Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how PDF Pebble ("PDF Pebble", "we", "us") handles information in the PDF Pebble app (available at app.pdfpebble.com and as an Android app) and on this website (pdfpebble.com).

The short version

• PDF Pebble does not require an account or login.
• Documents you scan are processed and stored on your device. We do not upload them to a server.
• The free version shows ads. Ad networks collect some device/usage data to serve and measure those ads — see "Advertising" below.
• The Pro unlock is a one-time in-app purchase processed by RevenueCat and the Google Play billing system, not by us directly.

Information we collect

We collect as little as we can get away with. Specifically:

• Your documents. Photos and PDFs you create in the app are stored locally on your device. We do not have a server that receives or stores them. If you enable an optional cloud backup feature in the future, that will upload only to your own linked account (e.g. your Google Drive), not to PDF Pebble's servers.
• Purchase data. If you buy the Pro unlock, the purchase is handled by RevenueCat and the Android app store's billing system. We receive confirmation that an entitlement was purchased, tied to an anonymous device/purchase identifier — not your name, address, or payment details.
• Advertising identifiers and usage data. The free version of the app displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob and its partners may collect device identifiers, approximate location, and app usage data to serve and measure ads, subject to your consent choices (see "Advertising" below).
• Website analytics/ads. This marketing website (pdfpebble.com) may show ads served by Google AdSense once that program is enabled, which use cookies or similar technology in browsers that allow them.

Advertising

PDF Pebble's free tier is supported by ads. In regions where consent is required (including the EEA and UK), the app shows a consent prompt (via Google's User Messaging Platform) before loading personalized ads, and you can choose non-personalized ads or manage your choices at any time from the app's "Privacy / ad choices" link. Purchasing the Pro unlock removes ads entirely.

Children's privacy

PDF Pebble is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ads are configured to request non-child-directed treatment.

How long we keep information

Your documents live on your device for as long as you keep them there — we have no server-side copy to delete. Advertising identifiers and purchase records are retained by our third-party providers (Google AdMob, RevenueCat, the Android app store) per their own retention policies, which are linked below.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information held about you (for example under the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA). Because PDF Pebble doesn't hold an account-linked profile of you, most of what applies is handled directly by the third-party services below. For anything else, contact us at support@pdfpebble.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app and site evolve. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
